I.DESALINATION PRINCIPLE
Seawater desalination plants adopt REVERSE OSMOSIS technique to reduce salinity of seawater. The reverse osmosis membrane is composed by advanced polyamide compound screen, it carry many advance character such as fine selection, high desalination rate and high permeation. It can remove the salt, organism, microbiology, bacteria and virus. It can turn the seawater into fresh water without any heating process or chemical dosing.
II.PLANT OVERVIEW
Desalination plant composed by mainly 3 parts:
1. pre-filter system
composed by feed water pump, multimedia filter and active carbon filter vessels, double stage precision filters and valves. After the pre-filtration, the floating particles and the suspending colloid are removed, turbidity of the water will reduce greatly, and meet the quality standard to feed the membrane system.
2. Reverse osmosis system
Composed by high pressure pump (HP pump), membrane elements and cleaning water tank. The clean feed water come by the inlet of the membranes, then is divided into 2 flows, the fresh water and the condensed water. The salt is separated on the surface of the membrane, but the freshwater permeate the membrane screen and gather from the central tube of the membrane and come out to the next membrane, the process may pass many grades, and different membrane array can have different effect while desalination. But finally the fresh water will come out to the fresh water pipe lines and the condensed water will be drained by the waste water regulator valve.
The quality of the fresh water will be monitored by the conductivity meter on the panel. During the running time, the freshwater tank should be full of fresh water, this could be used as cleaning water or make the protection liquid if the plant is to be leisure
3. Electrical controlling box:
this is the place where all electrical elements are installed and give control to the whole machine. The plant is integrated by low pressure and excessive pressure protection function. And the instruments will be illustrated in the later charters
